Thieves Steal Valuable Heirlooms From 85 Year Old Falkirk Woman

Thieves stole a pensioner's valuable jewellery collection while she was out visiting family.

The 85-year-old lost rings, brooches and necklaces worth a five-figure sum in the raid on her home in Falkirk on Thursday.

Her Parkview Avenue property was targeted some time between 4.30pm and 10.50pm.

The victim returned from visiting relatives to find her home ransacked and her jewellery gone.

Items included engraved rings of sentimental value, an s'' shaped brooch and a pendant with a topaz stone.

Sergeant David Ferguson said: This was a despicable crime targeting an elderly woman's home and stealing jewellery that is very important to her due to the memories attached.

I urge anyone who has information or who may have been offered the jewellery for sale, to please get in touch.''
