A teenager's been seriously injured after being hit by a car in Hamilton

It happened on Burnbank Road around 8pm on Friday night

A 16 year old boy's been seriously injured after being hit by a car on Burnbank Road, Hamilton on Friday, 20 January, 2023.

Around 8pm, a 16-year-old male pedestrian was stuck by a Renault Clio being driven by a 32-year-old man.

Police and Ambulance attended and the teenager was taken by Ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow. Hospital staff describe his condition as serious.

The driver and his two passengers were uninjured.

Sergeant Craig McDonald said: “Enquiries are continuing into the cause of the crash and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed this incident who has not yet spoken to police to contact us.

“I am also keen to obtain any dash-cam from drivers who were in the area of Burnbank Road around the time of the crash.

“Anyone with information should contact Road Policing Officers through 101 quoting reference number 3491 of 20 January.”
