Teenager arrested after taxi stolen in Easterhouse

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested and charged after a taxi driver was robbed of his vehicle in Easterhouse in Glasgow last week.

It happened around 11.35pm on Thursday when a blue Skoda taxi was flagged down by two males in Langbar Crescent near to Edinburgh Road.

A knife was presented and the car was taken and later found abandoned after crashing into a tree near St Lukes Avenue in Carluke.

Another vehicle was reported stolen from outside a property on Lanark Road, Carluke, in the early hours of Friday, 23 August, and found abandoned in Hallhill Road in Barlanark, Glagow. The incidents are being treated as linked.

He is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court later.
