Teenager appears in court on Crossbow charges
A teenager allegedly brandished a crossbow amid claims he stole handbags from an upmarket store.
Ciaran Johnstone was held following an incident in Glasgow's House of Fraser on December 12
The 18 year-old faced four charges during a private hearing at the city's sheriff court.
It is claimed he took four handbags from the store in Glasgow's Buchanan Street.
Prosecutors allege he then assaulted a man in that he did present a crossbow or similar instrument at him in nearby St Enoch's Square.
The remaining two charges are offensive weapon accusations relating to the crossbow and a clawhammer.
Johnstone, of the city's Roystonhill, made no plea and was remanded in custody.
The teenager - who was represented by lawyer Stephen Grady - will return to court at a later date.
