Teenage thug, who knifed promising young footballer in Baillieston, has further charges dropped
Lee McAulay, 18, was accused of breaching bail that was granted in June 2016 after appearing in court charged with murder
The teenage knife thug who killed 16-year-old promising footballer Luke Wallace has had further court charges dropped.
Lee McAulay, 18, was accused of breaching bail that was granted in June 2016 after appearing in court charged with murder.
He allegedly flouted the condition not to enter Baillieston during certain hours, by going to Muiredge Terrace on February 16, 2017.
McAulay, from Tollcross, Glasgow - who is serving nine years for the culpable homicide of Luke - was also accused of assaulting a 15-year-old on the same day.
He faced the charge along with 18-year-old Ryan McGloin, from Baillieston in Glasgow's east end.
The pair were due to go on trial at the city's sheriff court but the Crown took the decision not to prosecute.
A Crown Office spokesperson said: 'It is the duty of the Crown to keep cases under consideration of the facts and circumstances of the case.
'The procurator fiscal decided that there should be no further proceedings taken at this time.'
Luke, who played for Drumchapel Amateur Football Club, was attacked by McAulay in Ballieston, Glasgow, in June 2016.
He was stabbed in the groin during the row at a lane near to Bannerman High School.
McAulay admitted stabbing Luke but claimed he was acting in self defence.
He was later convicted of culpable homicide, having a knife, and attempting to defeat the ends of justice by washing clothing he was wearing when he killed Luke.
