Teenage Girl Sexually Assaulted In Glasgow
A teenage girl was sexually assaulted on a canal path as she walked home from a Glasgow play park.
The 14-year-old was walking on the path which runs behind the Little India takeaway on Blairdardie Road, when she was approached by a man who threatened her before carrying out the assault.
She managed to get away from the man and made her way home.
It happened at about 8.50pm on Friday August 21 or 28 but the girl did not report the incident until September 14, police said.
The man is described as white with a stocky build and a ruddy complexion. He was wearing an old style, knee length, duffle coat with the hood up.
Detective Inspector Gillian Patrick said: This was a terrifying experience for the victim who has been left badly shaken by what happened.
I would appeal to anyone who was in the surrounding area around the time of the attack to think back to whether they saw anything suspicious or noticed a man matching the description.
This would appear to be an isolated incident and additional patrols have been put in place to provide reassurance to the community as officers continue to conduct inquiries locally.''
