Teenage boy attacked and robbed by gang of youths in Paisley park
The 16-year-old had his backpack and cash stolen in the incident
A teenage boy has been attacked and robbed while making his way through a park in Paisley.
The 16-year-old was walking through Fountain Gardens near Love Street at around 11:30pm on Friday, when he was approached by a group of youths who assaulted him, before taking his backpack and a sum of cash.
The victim was able to run out of the park and call police.
The group who attacked him are described as male, and aged between 16 and 19.
Detective Sergeant Michael Lochrie from Paisley CID said: “The despicable behaviour displayed by this group of youths is completely unacceptable and enquiries are underway to trace them.
“I would appeal to anyone who may have noticed the group in the area, or anything else suspicious, to come forward.
