Teenage boy assaulted and robbed in Paisley

Detectives are appealing for information after a teenage boy was robbed in the Paisley area on Wednesday 7 February 2018.
Around 6.30pm a 14 year old boy was walking along King Street when he was stopped by a man near to the railway bridge at the junction with Douglas Street.
The man asked to borrow the boy’s mobile phone before punching him to the face and running off from the scene.
He is described as white, 5ft 5, with dark short hair and was wearing a black hooded top with an Adidas logo on the front.
The victim then informed two police officers out on patrol about the incident.
He did not require hospital treatment.
Detective Constable Craig Stirling from Paisley CID said: ‘This was a callous and opportunistic attack on a teenage boy and it is vital that we trace the individual responsible.
‘I would appeal to anyone who was in the area yesterday evening who either witnessed what happened or noticed a man matching the above description acting suspiciously, to please get in touch.
