Police want our help after a teenage boy seriously assaulted in Dumbarton
It happened at the town's Harp Social Club on High Street last night around 10:15pm
Police are appealing for information after a teenage boy was seriously assaulted in Dumbarton on Sunday, 16 March 2025.
Around 10.15pm, an 18-year-old male youth sustained a head and hand injury when he was stuck from behind with a weapon whilst leaving the toilet area of Dumbarton Harp Social Club on High Street.
He was attended to by a woman at the club before being treated by medical staff at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley later that night.
Detective Constable Thomas O’Donnell, Clydebank CID, said:
“Our enquiries are still at an early stage. Officers are checking CCTV from the club and attempting to contact patrons with regard to who may have witnessed the attack.
“From our information so far, it appears that the teenager was in the toilets of the club and on leaving was struck from behind with a glass object. This resulted in some serious injury to his head and hand for which he received stitches.
“We believe there were a few others in the toilets at the time, and so would appeal to them, or indeed any other possible witness to contact us.
“At the moment we don’t have descriptions of the assailant/assailants, but CCTV should show people entering and leaving the area around that time of the attack.”
