Youth arrested after 14 year old was hurt near Holyrood Secondary
A 15-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with an alleged serious assault near a secondary school. Police were called to a disturbance close to Holyrood Secondary in Glasgow's at around 1.20pm yesterday. Two 14-year-old boys were hurt in the incident in Boyd Street at Brereton Street in Govanhill. One was taken to the city's Victoria Infirmary, while the other did not need treatment in hospital. In a statement, Police Scotland later confirmed: "A 15-year-old has been arrested in connection with the alleged serious assault in Boyd Street in Govanhill on Monday. "A full report will be sent to the procurator fiscal." The teenager is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court today. Holyrood is Scotland's largest school, with a roll of more than 2,000 pupils. The headteacher has written to parents saying: "Please be reassured that the safety of our young people is paramount."
