Family devastated after "clever, funny" 14 year old dies in hospital following Stirlingshire river rescue

A 14-year-old girl has died in hospital after getting into difficulty in a river in Stirlingshire has been named as Nieve McIsaac.
Emergency services were called after reports of the teenager in the River Teith near Carse of Lecropt Road, Bridge of Allan, on Tuesday July 12 at about 5.50pm.
She was taken to the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow by air ambulance, where she was pronounced dead on Saturday.
Officers say there are no suspicious circumstances.
Her family has released the following statement:
"Nieve was a clever, funny, and beautiful young girl.
"She was a much loved daughter, sister, granddaughter and niece, and we have been left devastated by her death.
"We wish to ask for privacy at this very difficult time."
Officers are providing support to Nieve's family and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
Detective Sergeant Craig Faulds, of Forth Valley CID, said: "This is a heartbreaking incident in which a young girl has died.
"The family has asked that they be given privacy at this very difficult time and I would like to ask the public and media to please respect the family's wishes as they deal with their unimaginable loss."
