Another teenager has appeared in court charged with being part of the mayhem after the Scottish Cup final last month. Brandon Jones, 18, allegedly breached the Offensive Behaviour at Football and Threatening Communications Act on May 21 by running on to the pitch at Hampden Park when Hibs beat Rangers 3-2. He is accused of running on to the pitch after the final whistle and towards opposition supporters in an “aggressive and threatening manner”. Jones, from Clermiston, Edinburgh is also alleged to have assaulted an unknown male and repeatedly strike him on the head and body with a jacket or similar item and cause him to fall to the ground. He faces a final assault charge of allegedly seizing hold of Dale Pryde and throwing him to the ground. Jones appeared from custody at Glasgow Sheriff Court where he denied the charges. He was released on bail with the conditions not to enter Hampden or attend any football matches and will stand trial later this year. Dale Pryde appeared on petition at the same court last week accused of assaulting Rangers players Lee Wallace and Jason Holt. He is charged with running towards and attempting to punch Wallace on the head at Hampden Park, and attempting to punch Holt. The 19-year-old is also accused of breaching the peace by running on to the pitch towards Rangers supporters and brandishing a chair. He made no plea or declaration and was released on bail by sheriff Linda Ruxton. He is expected to appear again at a later date.
