A teenager is recovering after being seriously assaulted by a gang of youths in Glasgow on Monday.
The 17 year-old was walking along Bardowie Street in Saracen when he was hit by an object thrown from Bandstand - he confronted the group who the attacked him.
He was taken to hospital with a serious facial injury.
Police are appealing for witnesses
Detective Constable Chris Lafferty, Maryhill CID, said today:
“It would appear that this group of youths, both girls and boys, all white and aged between 12 and 17 years, had been throwing objects at passers-by and this boy reacted to being hit.
“We know that there were a number of people in the area at the time and indeed, at least one person broke up the fight.
“We would ask that person contact police, as well as others who were there and saw what happened. The injured boy did not do anything wrong and his injury will leave a scar, so we have to get those responsible.
“If you were in that area and saw anything that will assist officers with their investigation, including Dashcam footage if you were driving by, or information about the group, then then please contact Maryhill CID via 101 and quote reference number 3053 of Monday 25 June 2018.
“Details can also be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
