There is an appeal for witnesses after an 18 year-old was attacked and robbed in Balloch Park last night.

There is an appeal for witnesses after an 18 year-old was attacked and robbed in Balloch Park last night.

He and his three friends were assaulted by a group of teens between the ages of 13 and 15 near the jetty around 8.10pm

He was taken to hospital in Paisley for treatment for facial injuries and later released.

Detective Sergeant Nicky Beattie from CID Clydebank Police Station said: “The park was busy at the time of the incident and we are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed the assault or has video footage of the incident.”

“We want to re-assure the public regular high visibility patrols will be carried out and anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated.”

“Everyone should be able to enjoy the park, and we want to ensure it is a safe place to visit.”
