Gold Coast 2018 is officially Team Scotland's most successful ever overseas Commonwealth Games after a successful day of competition.

Dumfries shooter David McMath won Gold in the Men's Double Trap Shooting event on day seven to break the previous tally of 29 at the Melbourne games in 2006.

Day 7 started in great fashion after Linda Pearson took home the Bronze medal in the Women's Double Trap with diving duo James Heatly and Lucas Thomson qualifying for the 1m Springboard final.

Over in the bowling green Team Scotland's women's pairing Lesley Doig and Claire Johnston continued their winning streak with a 36-10 victory over Cook Islands.

The success continued into the boxing events with Reece McFadden and John Docherty both reaching their respective semi-finals, meaning two more bronze medals are guaranteed which would take the medal tally up to 32.

The 30 medals are still 23 behind their all-time record win of 53 medals at Glasgow 2014
