A 'suspicious package' discovered at an Amazon depot in Inverclyde is 'not a viable device', according to police.

Bomb disposal experts were called to the warehouse in Gourock, after the alarm was raised at about 5.15am on Friday.

Workers were evacuated and the area was cordoned off while the item was investigated.

But later police confirmed it appeared to be a tracking device.

"The item appears to be some sort of tracking device.

"It will be disassembled by EOD personnnel and will be removed by police for further forensic examination.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
