Man treated in hospital after possible 'gas leak' at flat in Glasgow's East End

The 52-year-old was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment.

A man's been taken to hospital after reports of a possible gas leak at a flat in the East End of Glasgow.

Officers were called out to the property on Thomson Street just after 10.30pm on Thursday and the possible leak was made safe.

The 52-year-old man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment.

Nearby properties and the surrounding areas were evacuated as a precaution but police say there was no risk to anyone living nearby.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said:

“Police received a report of a possible gas leak within a flat on Thomson Street, Glasgow, around 10.25pm on Thursday, 17 August, 2023."

“Emergency services attended and the possible leak was made safe."

“A 52-year-old man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment."

“There was no risk to the public and local residents have been able to return to their properties.”
