Security staff member knocked unconscious at Glasgow subway station

The man ran away from the scene and the victim was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries.

A security staff member has been left with serious injuries following an assault at Buchanan Street Underground Station North entrance.

At around 8.30pm on Saturday 15 May, the member of security staff at the station was approached by a man and punched in the face, knocking him unconscious and causing serious facial injuries.

The man then ran away from the scene and the victim was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries.

British Transport Police say at the time of the incident, the city centre and station were extremely busy with football supporters. Officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident.
