A host of magical fantasy characters, giant artworks, performing troupes, dancers and musicians will spread festive cheer throughout the city centre during the 10th Glasgow Style Mile Christmas Carnival.

The event will take place on Sunday 24 November and offer free entertainment for people of all ages as part of Glasgow Loves Christmas.

There will be different performances from Buchanan Galleries, down past Princes Square and Argyll Arcade and on to St Enoch Centre, where everyone can see and interact with bright, festive creations across the whole afternoon.

Lord Provost, Jacqueline McLaren, told Clyde 1: "It's a brilliant carnival atmosphere and it's fantastic for children.

"A lot of kids perhaps wouldn't normally get to see Santa, so it really helps to build the festivities and makes it all the more magically for children when Christmas time comes around.

"There will be reindeer and all sorts of lovely people and performers all dressed up to see.

"It's a wonderful day and I really hope everyone can come out to Buchanan Street on Sunday.

"Glasgow does Christmas the best."
