Strathclyde university "profoundly saddened" by death of student in sub disaster

A university in Glasgow is speaking of its shock following the death of one of its students on board the Titan sub.

We're hearing the 19-year-old, who was one of five on board the sub which imploded near the wreck of the Titanic, was "terrified" to take the trip.

He went as a Father's Day present.

A spokesperson for the University of Strathclyde said:

“The staff and students of Strathclyde have been shocked and profoundly saddened by the death of Suleman Dawood and his father in this tragic incident.
