18-year old dies after being found injured near Strathclyde University student halls

The 18-year old man was found injured, but later died of his injuries in hospital.

An 18-year old man has died after being found injured near to Strathclyde University student halls.

Police were called to Rottenrow in Glasgow city centre at around 1.50am this morning.

The man sadly died shortly after being taken to hospital for treatment.

His death is being treated as unexplained as police carry out enquiries.

Chief Inspector Craig Walker, Local Area Commander for Glasgow said : "Around 1.50am on Wednesday, 9 December, 2020 emergency services were called to a report of a man found injured in Rottenrow, Glasgow.

"An 18-year-old man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment where he died a short time later.

"His death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing.

"A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
