SSPCA Sad Tail Of Twa Dugs
Two dogs who have been rejected more than 500 times between them are still hoping for a new home.
Two dogs who have been rejected more than 500 times between them are still hoping for a new home.
Brindle staffies Jip and Monty have been waiting at the Scottish SPCA centre in Hamilton, South Lanarkshire, for 367 days and 345 days respectively, and have seen 530 other dogs rehomed ahead of them.
Both enjoy playing and Monty loves hugs and slobbery kisses'' while Jip enjoys
cudding up to a loved one'', staff said.
The charity said it was heartbreaking that the pair are still waiting for a new owner and urged anyone interested in rehoming them to get in touch.
Centre manager Peter Fleming said: Both Jip and Monty have grown up in front of our eyes and it breaks our hearts to see them missing out on good families over and over again.
We've rehomed 530 dogs from this centre in the time Jip and Monty have been with us but sadly neither of them have caught anyone's eye.
They're both lovely dogs but being brindle staffies they almost blend into the background.
Jip is a bonny boy aged three years old with lots to offer a new family. He is very intelligent so his owners will need to keep one step ahead of him.
His big passion in life is food and he will entertain people with his tricks if they keep the treats coming.
His ideal day would consist of playing in a nice big garden before cuddling up to a loved one.
Monty is a sweet wee guy, also around three years old, who enjoys spending time with people and snuggling up for hugs and slobbery kisses.
He likes to be kept active, both physically and mentally, so lots of games and walks are his idea of the perfect lifestyle.
Monty seems to prefer human company over that of other dogs so would like to be the only pet in his new household.''
Mr Fleming said staff would be overjoyed to find homes for two of their favourite residents and asked anyone interested to contact the Scottish SPCA's Lanarkshire centre on 03000 999 999.
