Police investigation ongoing after man is found dead in Springburn

Another man was taken to hospital for treatment

A man has been found dead on a Glasgow street.

Police were called to Auchinloch Street in Springburn at around 5.25am after concerns were raised for two men.

Officers arrived to discover the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene, and another was taken to hospital for treatment.

The man has not yet been named by police.

The following roads are closed to drivers while police carry out enquiries:

  • Springburn Road
  • Turner Road
  • Petershill Road
  • Laverockhall Street
There is a heavy police presence on the scene

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of concern for two men on Auchinloch Street, Glasgow, around 5.25am on Friday, 14 April, 2023.

“One man was pronounced dead at the scene and one man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary Hospital for treatment.

“Enquiries ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

“A number of road closures are in place, including Springburn Road, Turner Road, Petershill Road and Laverockhall Street.

"Drivers are asked to avoid the area.”
