Tributes have been paid to a sports broadcaster who has died aged 85.
Arthur Montford hosted more than 2000 episodes of STV's Scotsport over three decades.
He was the programme's first anchor when it launched as Sports Desk in 1957 and remained with the programme until he retired in 1989.
Mr Montford, born in 1934, also worked in print and radio journalism.
An STV spokesman said: Arthur Montford made an immense contribution to sporting life in Scotland and was an STV legend, hosting over 2000 episodes of Scotsport over three decades.
We would like to offer our condolences to his family at this sad time.''
The journalist was known for his classic lines such as what a stramash'' and
disaster for Scotland'' and renowned for his sports jackets.
Mr Montford was from Greenock and was an Honorary President of Greenock Morton football club.
The club offered its condolences on Twitter, tweeting: The club has learned of the passing of our Honorary President Arthur Montford. Our sincere condolences go to his family at this sad time.''
Many football fans and fellow journalists also took to Twitter to pay tribute to Mr Montford.
