A Glasgow Man is raising funds for Cash for Kids and Homeless Project Scotland by sleeping rough for twenty-four hours.

Justin Wingate, chief of OnTrade Hospitality Magazine, said: "There seems to be more blurred lines between homeless charities and charities supporting children in need.

"We want to support Cash for Kids so they can help kids before they're at the point where they have to sleep on the streets.

"For us it's one in the same, we're dealing with the homeless part of the situation now and we're trying to stop families in poverty sliding into homelessness in the future."

Superstar Support

Justin was joined last year by Callum Beattie, who helped him raise more than ÂŁ80,000 for Steps to Hope, an Edinburgh based homeless charity.

Mr Wingate said his experiences last year were "eye opening."

"Me and Callum Beattie both took a lot of profound lessons from it.

"I vividly remember Callum feeling intimidated and uneasy when people stood over him and towered over him.

"I think people don't know how to approach the homeless."

Human Dignity

Justin added: "Try and understand the person might not have had a great day, you don't know what they've gone through that day.

"Treat them like a human being, you don't know the situation they're in.

"I've had people say I don't look homeless because I'm clean and dressed properly. That shound't be an issue, if someone's sat on the streets they're sat there for a reason.

"Just think before you approach a homeless person. if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything."
