Sir Chris Hoy joins e-cyclists in Glasgow for UCI Cycling E-sports World Championships
Athletes from all over the world are in the city for the event.
Sir Chris Hoy is joining hundreds of e-racers in Glasgow for the UCI Cycling E-sports World Championships.
The event will see athletes from all over the globe compete in three different courses all set on a virtual map of Scotland.
Organiser Robbie Clyde from EventScotland said: "Tonight 160 people will be taking part and this is a big deal for the city.
"Virtual cycling really took off during covid when people were not getting out as much as they normally would.
"It is perfect if you are working or at school or university during the winter months and you don't always have time to get out in the daylight.
"It is a great way of keeping fit and active and then when the spring comes back around the cyclists are still in good shape and can get back out."
Sir Chris is also an ambassador the UCI Cycling World Championships coming to Glasgow from August 3rd-13th this year.
Robbie added: "Tonight you can ride with Sir Chris and maybe try to keep up with him.
"We will be having interviews and chats with Chris and it will be good to hear some of his professional insight to tell us what the e-cyclists are going through because they will be working flat out."
