Seven car crash on M8 causes long tailbacks

Emergency services were called to the accident on Sunday afternoon.

A crash on the M8 involving several vehicles has caused long tailbacks in North Lanarkshire.

Emergency services attended the incident at 12.20pm on Sunday heading eastwards at Newhouse, near junction six.

It is believed six or seven vehicles were involved and the road was closed in the area.

Fire crews, police and ambulance personnel were at the scene in North Lanarkshire.

Police Scotland said there had been no reports of any serious injuries.
