Seven arrested following house party in Milton

7 people have been charged after allegedly breaking the lockdown rules at a house party in the Milton area of Glasgow last night.

Police were called to Egilsay Street around 10pm.

They say they're urging people to keep following restrictions to stop the spread of coronavirus.

Sergeant Gordon Murphy, of Glasgow Baird Street Station, said: “We can confirm that we attended a property at Egilsay Street in Glasgow around 10pm on Saturday, 4 July, 2020, following a report of an ongoing party.

“Officers spoke to the occupants and encouraged them to go home. The gathering dispersed a short time later.

“A 31-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman were arrested and charged in connection and are expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, 6 July, 2020.

“Another two women, aged 27 and 33, and three men, aged 23, 31 and 34, were arrested and charged in connection and released on undertaking to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Wednesday, 26 August, 2020.

“The Chief Constable has made it clear that we are asking people to take personal responsibility to do the right thing and remember the purpose of these measures is to aid the collective effort to stay safe, protect others and save lives by preventing the virus from spreading.”
