Man left seriously injured following assault outside Ibrox Stadium

An investigation's underway after a man was left with serious facial injuries following a serious assault in Govan.

The incident happened around 5.15pm on Sunday 7 March 2021 outside Ibrox Stadium on Edminston Drive.

An 24-year-old man sustained serious injuries to his face which required treatment at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital after being struck with a weapon.

Detective Constable Stephen Findlay, of Police Scotland’s Glasgow CID unit, said: "Following extensive enquiries into this incident, we are appealing for information from members of the public to help trace those involved.

"The area would have been busy with football supporters at the time and we would encourage anyone with any information to come forward and speak to police.

"If anyone has any mobile phone footage that could assist with our enquiries, I would ask that you get in touch with officers.

"Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident number 1404 of 7/3/21."
