A second man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a man who died following a disturbance.

A second man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a man who died following a disturbance.

John Smith, 52, was found critically injured at Misk Knowes in Stevenston, North Ayrshire, on Saturday October 8.

He was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where he died three days later.

Craig Munro, 30, was charged with murder when he appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court today.

He was also charged with assault to severe injury and attempted murder.

He made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody, the Crown Office said.

A 26-year-old has previously appeared in court charged with murdering Mr Smith.

Allan Robertson, 26, was charged with murder when he appeared in private at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Wednesday October 24.

He was also charged with attempted murder and assault to severe injury, the Crown Office said.

Robertson, of Glasgow, made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody.
