Scottish seaside homes among most affordable in UK

Millport has seen the biggest jump in price since 2020.

The price of properties in Millport has jumped by more than in any other coastal town over the last year.

The town on the Isle of Cumbrae has seen a 53% increase - with homes there costing, on average, £113,292.

In 2020, they were priced at £74,148.

More Britons have looked to buy in more remote locations and move away from cities in the past two years as the pandemic saw a shift towards working from home.

The average cost of a home by the sea's jumped by more than £22,000.

The most affordable seaside town in the UK is Campbeltown in Argyll and Bute, with properties costing £91,201 on average.
