It was a grey day when Elissa Wilson was taking part in the bi-monthly Prestwick Beach Litter Pick Up.

She was about to head home when the flash of red caught her eye and she discovered the message in a bottle on the shore covering in seaweed.

Elissa tells us it was written by a woman called Sarah on her first wedding anniversary in Skye.

She took to social media to track down the mysery woman and posted this:

'It’s not like me to create a public post but would love people to share this one.

'At our fortnightly Prestwick beach litter pick on Saturday I found a message in a miniature bottle.

'With the help of some tweezers the very lovely romantic message has now been revealed.

'It was thrown in the sea from Skye by Sarah on her first wedding anniversary and I’d love to trace her and for her to know it landed in Prestwick.
