Police are continuing to appeal for information to help locate 45-year-old Paul Connelly, who was last seen on Wednesday 20 November on the Isle of Bute.

His family reported him as missing on Friday 29 November and enquiries carried out since have reported sightings of him on Wednesday 27 November in Rothesay.

He is white, around 5ft 8in with short dark-coloured hair. He was last seen wearing a black jacket and blue jeans.

Chief Inspector Douglas Wilson, Local Area Commander, said: “Today, we have issued a new image of Paul in a hope that this will help jog the memories of anyone who may have seen him in the last few weeks.

“Extensive enquiries continue with a number of searches underway on the Isle of Bute by specialist officers.

“I'm particularly keen to speak with anyone who visited the Isle of Bute between 20 November and 29 November and may have given Paul a lift off the island or even just saw him on the island.

“As time goes on his family are obviously becoming increasing concerned for Paul and although he lives alone, it is unusual for his family to have no contact with him for this length of time. They would however like to thank the residents of Bute who have supported them through this difficult time.

“There has been very little information from the public so far and we would continue to urge anyone who has seen Paul, or indeed Paul himself to contact police or his family to let us know he is safe. Think back, have you seen anyone matching his description?

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact officers through 101 quoting reference number 2911 of Friday 29 November 2019.”
