A man had his keys stolen after being threatened

Published 12th Apr 2018

A man's been left shaken after he was robbed of a white Transit van in Maryhill on Tuesday afternoon. The 39-year old returned to his vehicle on Caldercuilt Road around 1pm where a man was waiting for him - he threatened the driver and demanded his keys.

He made off along Maryhill Road. The suspect is described as around 5ft 10 of slim build with brown eyes. He was wearing a grey top with the hood up and had a black scarf covering his face.

Police Constable Lee McIntyre, Community Investigation Unit in Govan said: “Although nobody was injured this incident has left a man shaken and without his vehicle. Our officers are checking CCTV in order to try and trace the van and the person responsible but are looking to anyone who may have any information to come forward.

“We know there was another older-style white Ford Transit van, with green writing on the side, parked on Whitton Street just before the incident and we believe the driver of this vehicle may be able to assist us in our enquiries. If anyone was in the area, perhaps going to and from Maryhill Park, who noticed anyone matching the description, or any Ford Transit vans we would urge you to contact us.”

Anyone with information should contact Maryhill Police Office via 101, quoting incident number 1445 of Tuesday 10 April 2018. Alternatively you can contact CRIMESTOPPERS on 0800 555 111 where information can be given anonymously.
