Scotland's universities are being urged to follow Glasgow's lead and provide rent rebates for self-isolating students.

It's promising a one month refund for those living in halls - around 700 are currently quarantining in their apartments.

Matt Crilly's President of the National Union of Students in Scotland, he believes others should jump on board.

"Moving house, moving into flats is quite a costly experience. You end up spending a lot of money, I think this will go a long way to helping students," he said.

"We really think it's something that every university and halls provider should follow suite om

"I also think it's very good Glasgow University is now being very open about the support they're offering to students with regard to food and drink and I think it's a very crucial one."

Students are being urged to stay away from pubs and restaurants this weekend - after outbreaks at campuses across the country.

We expect to hear more guidance for those affected from the Scottish Government later.
