A-list stars from across Scotland are uniting in a bid to raise £200,000 for frontline workers.

A three hour gig and talk show will take place via Facebook live this evening, with celebrities including Annie Lennox and Sir Chris Hoy

All funds raised will go to Masks for Scotland, a drive to provide appropriate PPE for those tackling Covid-19

The event's called Love for Scotland and will be presented by Edith Bowman.

"We're making sure we're giving all these incredibly brave and selfless people, the best opportunity they can in terms of protecting themselves to go out and help others.

"We want to make sure we're spreading those stories.

"We've set up a form for members of the public to upload their videos. This could be videos of thanks or celebrations of community spirit.

The show is for people, so we want it to be about them as well."

The Masks for Scotland crowdfunding initiative was founded by Professor Jill Belch of the University of Dundee.

She said, "I'd like to thank the people of Scotland, and everyone from around the world, for donating so we can protect those who protect us.

"I'd also like to thank the Scottish Government for their support. They have told us that they want to do all they can to support our appeal and ensure it achieves maximum effect. I hope you all enjoy the show!"
