ScotRail to offer 'best Boxing Day timetable in decades'
Additional trains will be running across the country to help travellers get to the sales or meet friends and family
ScotRail says it will be putting on the "most trains in years", for those of us looking to grab a bargain in the Boxing Day sales.
An extended festive timetable is being introduced across the country on December 26th.
The train operator expects the services to be busy and is urging travellers to plan ahead.
Passengers are being asked to make sure they know when the last trains will be, so that they are not caught out.
Communications director David Ross said: "We'll be running the biggest Boxing Day timetable for decades.
"We've got services between Edinburgh and Glasgow, Strathclyde area, Ayrshire, Inverclyde, Fife, Stirling and Dunblane.
"That's more services than we've run in years.
"We expect them to be busy with lots of people going to Boxing Day sales or seeing friends and family.
"Our advice to passengers is to plan ahead, check what time services are and particularly the last trains so they know exactly what's happening."
