Scotsman Stephen McGuire strikes Paralympic gold
40-year-old triumphs in Individual Boccia event in Paris
Scotland's Stephen McGuire has claimed Paralympics GB's 26th gold medal. He won the Individual Boccia BC4 event, beating Edilson Chica of Columbia 8-5.
The 40-year-old from Hamilton, competing in his 4th Games, is the second Scot to take gold in Paris following Stephen Clegg’s triumph in the 100 metres backstroke on Saturday.
Sport Scotland chief executive Forbes Dunlop says :
"Winning medals on the global stage is a phenomenal achievement and to come away with a Gold Medal is something Stephen McGuire can be immensely proud of.
