Schoolboy hit by car outside Glasgow school

A schoolboy has been rushed to hospital after being 'knocked down' by a car.

Emergency services raced to the scene near Haghill Primary School on Cumbernauld Road in the east end of Glasgow on Friday afternoon.

Officers received reports of a crash involving a car and a child pedestrian at around 3.05pm on Friday, February 9.

A nine-year-old boy was rushed to hospital for treatment. His current condition remains unknown.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3.05pm on Friday, 9 February, 2024, we received a report of a crash involving a car and a 9-year-old male pedestrian on Cumbernauld Road, Glasgow.

“Emergency services attended and the boy was taken to hospital for treatment.”
