CCTV images released following serious assault on Sauchiehall Street

CCTV images of two men have been released by police following a serious assault in Glasgow city centre last week.

At 1.34am on Saturday 25th August, a man was assaulted by a stranger on Sauchiehall Street near Blythswood Street.

The victim was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment to a head injury and later released.

Detectives are keen to speak to both men in the images as they believe they may have information that will assist with their ongoing investigation.

The first man is described as black, early to mid-20s, clean shaven, wearing a black beanie-style hat, black jacket, blue t-shirt, blue jeans and black shoes.

The second man is described as Asian, possibly mid to late 20s, early 30s, short black hair, short beard, black jumper, dark blue denim jeans and black shoes.

Detective Constable Kevin Parkin from Stewart Street Police Office said: “A man has been left in a state of shock after being assaulted whilst on a night out.

“Sauchiehall Lane was busy with revellers at the time of the incident and I’m appealing for anyone who may have seen either of the men in the images, or knows who they are, to get in touch as it is vital that they are spoken to as part of the investigation.
