Fire-affected businesses rally as Sauchiehall Street fightback begins

The Glasgow School of Art fire - and resultant street closures - have left some businesses unable to access their premises.

Council bosses have admitted they can’t say how long businesses affected by the art school fire will be shut for.

The blaze at the Glasgow School of Art has shut a number of surrounding streets, with Glasgow City Council expecting the safety cordon to remain in place for the 'foreseeable future'.

It follows another major fire at the other end of Sauchiehall Street in March at Victoria's nightclub.

The blaze there has shut an entire block of the popular retail district as demolition work continues on the affected buildings.
