Detectives are appealing for information after a safe was stolen from a butcher shop in Wishaw on Wednesday.
Three men in dark coloured clothing raided James Chapman butchers shop in Glasgow Road around 11pm and confronted a female member of staff .
The men then stole a safe, with what’s believed to be a four-figure sum of money within. The member of staff was uninjured, however, she has been left badly shaken.
Enquiries carried out so far have shown the suspects loaded the safe into a dark-coloured 4x4 car, driven by a fourth suspect, before making off in this car.
Forensic examination of the shop is being carried and officers will continue to review relevant CCTV footage from in and around the area for any additional information which could assist in their enquiries.
Detective Sergeant Scott Wilson said: “I am appealing to members of the public, motorists and taxi-drivers who may have been in that area around the time of the incident. Did you see a dark coloured 4 x 4 car, did not notice the suspects – if you have dash cam, please check it as you may have captured an image which could assist us in our investigation. Any small piece of information could prove vital as we piece together what has happened.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 0035 of 15 October 2020. Alternatively, please call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where you can give information anonymously.
