Rutherglen woman accused of leaving children 'unsupervised' in dirty flat with pit bull

A Rutherglen woman has admitted keeping four children locked in a dirty flat with little food.
Nicole Stewart pleaded guilty to two charges which span between November 19 2020 and October 10 2021.
Court papers state the 33-year-old did "wilfully expose" the youngsters in a manner which could cause them "unnecessary suffering".
The kids were left in the flat unsupervised and with a pit-bull dog "for an extended period of time".
She left them without a key to unlock doors and with insufficient "suitable food and drinks to eat".
The charge describes the children as "unclean" and without proper clothes in a flat which had decaying food in open bin bags as well as mould on plates.
Plugged-in hair appliances, knives, scissors and cleaning products were left within reach of the youngsters.
Stewart pled guilty to the allegations under the Children and Young Persons Act during a hearing at Glasgow Sheriff Court.
She will be sentenced next month where more information surrounding the circumstances will be heard.
Stewart remains on bail meantime.
