A police officer sobbed as he was cleared of sexually assaulting a woman in her own home.
Dilexan Aloysious, 28, was accused of attacking the 42-year-old in Glasgow's Ruchill on September 2, 2020.
The suspended officer - based out of the city's Maryhill - had initially returned the woman's missing teenage daughter.
He visited the woman again at her flat later that morning.
It is then she claimed that Aloysious attempted to kiss her before groping her.
The woman stated the alleged incident had made her lose faith in the police system.
Aloysious meantime claimed that he was a "Good Samaritan" to deviate from standard procedure to go back to the flat to help her report what he believed would be a domestic matter.
He later stated: "I stand by it, I chose with my heart."
Aloysious denied any sexual conduct with the woman.
He stated that his only contact was to separate her and her daughter during a row as well as putting his hands out when she went to hug him.
The jury returned not proven verdict today to the single charge of sexual assault while off-duty.
A separate identical on-duty sexual assault charge was deleted by the prosecutor midway through the trial.
Aloysious cried as he left the dock following his acquittal by Sheriff Joan Kerr.
