Roads in Glasgow city centre have reopened after a major police incident.

Officers were called to reports of a man causing a disturbance on Kent Road near St Vincent Street at around 4.45am on Saturday 7 June.

Several roads were closed for around three hours

A 27 year old man was arrested in connection with the incident, and enquiries are ongoing.

Granville Street, Cleveland Street, Cleveland Lane, and Kent Street were all closed for around three hours while police, fire, and ambulance crews attended.

They have since been reopened, police are thanking the public for their patience and reassuring there were no injuries and no threat to the wider community.

The nearby Mitchell Library was also closed while restrictions were in place, but has posted an update saying: "We are now fully reopened. Apologies for any inconvenience".

Roads in the area are now reopened

A resident in the building affected on Kent Street, Bill, spoke to Clyde 1.

He told us he was unable to access his flat while the cordon was in place, saying: "I never heard anything, it wasn't until I looked out of my living room window and ai saw two police officers standing at the back entrance of the building"

"It wasn't until I went out this morning to do a bit of shopping and I was told I can't go that way along Kent Street to North Street, I had to go all the way around because the police are all over the area."

He was out of his flat from 7.30am until the cordon lifted just after 11am.
