A road worker has died after he was hit by a truck during resurfacing work.
A road worker has died after he was hit by a truck during resurfacing work.
The incident happened on Calderwood Road, East Kilbride at around 4.30pm on Saturday.
The man was struck by a vehicle which was also involved in the road repairs and died at the scene.
No-one else was injured.
The Health and Safety Executive and South Lanarkshire roads department have been told about the incident, while police are also investigating.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “A full investigation into the circumstances of the incident is now underway and a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
