Residents evacuated from Cambuslang flats after fire

People are being asked to avoid the area around a block of flats in Cambuslang, after a fire broke out this morning.

Emergency services were called to the blaze at around 8.15am on Sunday 18 August, at a block of flats on Claude Avenue.

A number of residents were rescued from the building as a precaution, and two were checked over by paramedics at the scene, they did not require hospital treatment.

Emergency crews remain on the scene, and enquiries into the cause of the fire are ongoing.
