Reports of panther on the loose in Ayrshire

Have you spotted a big black cat around Drongan and Coalhall?
A report of a black panther in fields near the B730 between the two villages has prompted a warning from police.
The sighting was called in on Friday morning. (19th October)
A statement from police says, "Officers are currently working with the SSPCA to locate the animal which may be injured.
"The area is popular with dog walkers so care should be taken and if anyone sees the animal and we would ask you not to approach it."
Any sightings should be reported to police via 101 quoting incident number 0780 of Friday 19 October 2018.
