Renewed appeal to trace missing Cumbernauld pensioner
It is more than ten days since Thomas Lamb went missing in Cumbernauld and his family are issuing a fresh appeal to find him.
Thomas Lamb was last seen in the Abronhill area of the town on Saturday, July 2, the day Germany took on Italy in the quarter final of the Euros.
The 79-year-old was seen on CCTV getting off the X25 bus on Moss Road, near Oak Road, at about 6.23pm, having boarded it in Cumbernauld town centre around 15 minutes earlier.
Inspector Vincent Ferris said: "Mr Lamb has been missing for 10 days now and his family are extremely worried about him.
"To refresh people’s memory the night he went missing, Saturday 2nd July, was the night of the Germany v Italy quarter-final in the Euro 2016 Championship.
"Officers are working to establish where Mr Lamb went after he got off the bus, however we need help from members of the public. We would particularly like to speak to passengers on the Stagecoach X25 bus which left Cumbernauld town centre around 1810 hours, especially those who got off at the same stop as Mr Lamb in Moss Road near to Oak Road at 1823hrs.
"From CCTV, we can see that a number of other passengers got off the bus at this stop so if you may have seen Mr Lamb please do get in touch. "We are also appealing to any members of the public and passing motorists who were in the vicinity of Moss Road/Oak Road around this time and who may have dashcam footage or information on any possible sightings or a direction of travel for Mr Lamb to contact officers.
"There is a further possible sighting of Mr Lamb sometime later walking through the underpass from Lime Crescent beneath Forest Road, in the direction of the forestry area to the south of Forest Road. Again, I would like to speak to anyone who was in the area and may have seen him there. Similarly, if any residents have private CCTV systems, could they also get in touch.
"Finally, I would continue to ask that local residents in the the Abronhill area continue to check their gardens and any outbuildings in case Mr Lamb has sought shelter there. "Anyone with information regarding Mr Lamb’s whereabouts is asked to contact officers at Cumbernauld Police Office on 101."
Mr Lamb is around 5 ft 8 inches in height, with grey hair, of slim build and walks quite slowly. It’s believed he is wearing a black anorak, multi-coloured jumper with a shirt underneath and blue trousers.
