Police are continuing to appeal for the public's help to trace William Miller, exactly one month on from when he went missing. William Miller, 62, disappeared from his home in the Balfron area on Wednesday 6 January 2016 and later that day he was captured on CCTV in the Tesco store in Milngavie around 1pm. He was last seen at the BP garage in Main Street, Jamestown, Alexandria around 0020 hours on Thursday 7 January after spending most of the evening in Fentons Public House which is located on the same road. A dedicated team of officers have been conducting extensive enquiries and have been supported by specialist units in their search for William.
The information received has focussed the search on the Dumbarton, Alexandria, Milngavie areas where he was last seen as well as Dunoon where is believed to have contacts. William is described as 5ft10 to 6ft tall and of medium build.
When he was last seen he was wearing blue jeans, a blue and grey t0shirt and a black waterproof jacket with a ‘DOUGLAS PARK’ logo on the left breast.
He was also carrying a distinctive small black rucksack with light blue panels and normally wears a white-faced analogue watch with a brown leather strap. Chief Inspector Graeme MacDiarmid said: “It has now been one month since William went missing and I can’t stress enough how important information from members of the public is to our investigation. “I would continue to appeal anyone who may have seen William over the past month to come forward.
Particularly if you were in Fentons Public House on the evening of 6 January and have not provided a statement to police, we want to hear from you to ensure we have as much information as possible about the night William was last seen. “I would also continue to urge members of the public to keep an eye out for William in the Dumbarton, Alexandria, Milngavie and Dunoon areas as well as checking sheds, garages or outhouses in case he has taken shelter within. “Anyone with information on William’s whereabouts can contact police on 101.”
